[news] Infestum (Belarus) - Monuments of Exalted (2014)

Howdy!
Here's an excellent release. It's as refreshing to my ears to work with different kinds of metal releases as it is for you fellas, I'm sure. That's why I make it a point to keep shuffling genres and make sure to work with the best as far as possible. Here's the latest of the Lacerated Enemy Records releases.

INFESTUM (Belarus) - Monuments of Exalted (Blackened Death Metal, October 31st, 2014, Lacerated Enemy Records)

Infestum are the new forward-thinking torchbearers of black metal while remaining true to the original essence of the style. From Belarus, Infestum create epic and moving black metal inspired by Thorns, Emperor, Aborym and Behemoth, and present it with cutting edge methodology, imbibing influences of death metal and industrial harshness. The result is overwhelming if not just awe-inspiring. The grandeur of black metal meets the futuristic sounds of extreme metal. For the first time, Lacerated Enemy Records, a powerful entity for death metal music, is unleashing the magic of black metal and it couldn't have chosen a worthier band to spread its wings.

COPROCEPHALIC (International) - The Oath of Relinquishment [news]

This is one of the most awaited releases in the Brutal Death Metal style. The band is just massive and is also into doing its own thing like 7 H.Target. Check it out -

COPROCEPHALIC (International) - The Oath of Relinquishment (Atmospheric Brutal Death Metal, July 31st, 2014, Lacerated Enemy Records)

This is a super-band of sorts, with members being from Taiwan as well as US. In addition to members having played in Splattered and Gorepot, the album sees the likes of Angel Ochoa (Disgorge), Matti Way (Pathology), and Jermiah Blue Jensen (Guttural Secrete, Euphegenia) doing guest vocals. This is a different, visceral level of guttural brutality - a notch higher than the standard Disgorge/Devourment or Suffocation/Cannibal Corpse clones. The album is extremely intense and is more convoluted and atmospheric than you'd think - you need balls of steel to withstand this and a powerful brain to comprehend it. This is the next step in Death Metal expression.

The artwork again is something refreshing, done by Sarafin Concepts. This is almost dissonant Brutal Death Metal, while being ridiculously guttural, heavy and crushing at the same time, and there's the eerie atmospheric touches that's pretty much absent in this genre.
Must check out.

Hiss from the Moat - Misanthropy (Lacerated Enemy Records) [news]

This is groundbreaking stuff if you look at it - high-speed Black/Death in the modern vein, with the drummer of Hour of Penance. This is seriously insane - it's only comparable to Detrimentum and Lykathea Aflame in its vision, playing blistering music that's epic, atmospheric and all-encompassing. It's hard to believe this is only the debut album of this super-band almost, having released its album digitally through Nuclear Blast and Lacerated Enemy handling the gorgeous CD responsibilities.
