Third album by Cypriot thrash/death metallers out in November

 

Cyprus-based thrash/death metallers BLYND return with their third album, “Liber Sum”, a follow-up to 2012’s hugely successful “Punishment Unfolds.”

"Liber Sum" (I am free) is a journey through the spiritual and material history of humanity, greatly influenced by the tumultuous history of Cyprus, combined with the alchemical art of psychospiritual growth and transmutation. The album gradually transitions to a more positive side of things, with a truly majestic ending of the song “The Kingdom Within” where a touch of hope and change is found.

This is the band’s most focused album to date, lyric and music wise. The band successfully manage to maintain their unique and excellent blend of extreme music with symphonic elements and this is an album that’s as dark and atmospheric as it gets while still thrashing mad!

The album’s brilliant artwork is by Gustavo Sazes (Arch Enemy, While Heaven Wept, Kamelot, Morbid Angel among others) and it is worth noting that the artwork is inspired by the ancient writings and history of Cyprus. The album was engineered and mixed by Philip Zilfo and mastered by 4DSounds.

“Liber Sum” is scheduled for a worldwide release on November 6^th on CD and digital. It is already available for pre-order at http://store.pitchblackrecords.com and http://pitchblackrecords.bandcamp.com. A series of live performances will be announced by the band shortly.

CRIMSON WIND JOINS PITCH BLACK RECORDS
Sophomore release for Italian Symphonic Power Metallers

Pitch Black Records announces the addition of Italian Symphonic Power Metal band CRIMSON WIND to its artist roster.

Formed in Palermo, Italy, in December 2008 by Claudio Florio (of Trinkarius and Holy Knights) and Niki Zummo who both wanted to form a band heavily influenced by power metal, the band’s debut album («The Wings of Salvation») was released in 2011 receiving raving reviews worldwide from fans and music critics.

The band is now back with their sophomore effort, titled “Last Poetry Line” and featuring a new vocalist along with a refreshing sound delivering their fierce version of Symphonic Power Metal which apart from some damn serious drumming and riffing also includes fine keyboard and choir arrangements among other elements. This is definitely an album no Power Metal fan should miss!

Vomitile intègre le label Pitch Black Records [news]

PITCH BLACK RECORDS announces the addition of Cyprus-based death metal act VOMITILE (death metal) into its artist roster and the release of the band’s second album titled “Mastering the Art of Killing.”

Formed in early 2007 the band released a 7-track EP in 2010 and three years later their debut album (“Igniting Chaos”) was released. They have played live numerous times, including support slots for legendary SODOM and OBITUARY.

VOMITILE’s style is pure old school death metal with some melodic elements. Superb deathly growls and thunderous drumming along with fierce riffing make this release a must for any devoted death metal fan! The album was mastered by Andy Classen, at Stage One studios in Germany, who has also worked with ASPHYX, DESTRUCTION and ROTTING CHRIST among others.

“Mastering the Art of Killing” is set for release on October 3rd (EU) and November 11th (US) on Pitch Black Records. It will also be available through all major mp3 stores. French epic/heavy power metallers STONECAST have joined Pitch Black Records and their album “Heroikos” will mark the label’s last release for 2013.

STONECAST were formed in 2002 and after several demo releases, they issued their debut album in 2009. Following a number of shows – including an appearance at the French edition of Sonisphere, where they closed the festival after the “Big Four” – the band is now back with their sophomore effort, “Heroikos”.

Their new album is just pure Heavy Metal and to further add to its relentless pounding sound the band has enlisted the help of legendary drummer Kenny Earl “RHINO” (ex MANOWAR and JACK STARR’S BURNING STARR among others) whose handling of a drum set needs no further introduction.

Mixed and mastered by Mariusz Pietka of MP Studio, Poland (known from his work with CRYSTAL VIPER and SACRED STEEL among others) “Heroikos” is an album of epic proportions that is full of adrenalin pumping steel!

Pitch Black Records announces the addition of Norway’s GHOST AVENUE (formerly GHOST) to its roster of artists and the release of the band’s (self-titled) second album.

Formed in 2002, GHOST AVENUE quickly managed to fine-tune their sound and gain a massive fan base after many live shows and some great reviews on their 2010 debut. Offering a unique blend of classic hard rock and 80’s heavy metal and despite the obvious preference for the classics, the band manages to achieve a contemporary sound with music that’s full of melody and catchy tunes.

The musicianship is excellent throughout the album and there’s no doubt that GHOST AVENUE’s hard rocking metal sound will make anyone head bang over and over again! The album is superbly mixed and mastered by Vagelis Maranis at Maranis Studios in Germany.
