J’avoue que je suis passé à côté de ce groupe énorme à la sortie de son premier album .​.​.​and the Beast Spake Death from Above en 2018 et toujours via Krucyator Productions. Mais j’ai vite rattrapé mon retard. J'ai fait un tour sur le store de Krucyator Productions et j’ai constaté que la cassette et le cd étaient épuisé (et c’est plutôt bon signe) et j’ai dû me rabattre sur le digital. AHHHHHH, j’en souffre profondément…car si vous suivez le blog vous savez que selon mon point de vue le streaming c’est le mal, le digital un support, le physique et surtout la cassette – c’est la vie.

DRAP (Sweden) - En Naturlig Dod (Crust/Grind/Punk/D-beat, December 8th 2014, Xtreem Music)

Drap got picked up by Xtreem Music to unleash their brand of crust/grind/hc to a worldwide audience. More people need to be initiated into this style of music which is parallel to grindcore albeit with a darker edge, wider range of influences stemming from punk/hardcore music. Swedish bands are well known for this style of music, with bands like SKITSYSTEM, DISFEAR and DRILLER KILLER propagating it, and more recently grindcore bands like SPLITTER, AFGRUND and THE ARSON PROJECT taking it forward. Expect a combination of both here - the intensity of grindcore coupled with the crusty/punk/hardcore quality that we've come to admire of late. 'En Naturlig Dod' is a sublime record, representing the best qualities of it all, executed impeccably and produced to retain the necessary rawness without taking anything away from it. The music is brimming with palpable tension, going from one short song to the other with sustained mad fervour, fulfilling the quota of the right heaviness with needed substance.

DESTRUCTIVE EXPLOSION OF ANAL GARLAND (Czech Republic) - Tour de Anal (2014) [news]

Featuring members of Jig-Ai, Ahumado Granujo, Brutally Deceased and Eardelete (ex-Negligent Collateral Collapse), Destructive Explosion of Anal Garland releases its heaviest and finest one yet. The third album titled 'Tour de Anal' is all about sick robust tunes, hefty, pounding grooves and some of the most volatile, rollicking music in this style. Reminiscent of old Gronibard, Cock and Ball Torture and also Regurgitate, this band is taking the sound forward and leaves nothing to the imagination (kind of). Every song is a new dimension in death/grind brutality. Everything else pales in comparison to the sound of this one - it's balls-out extreme metal, take it or leave it. Play it out and find your family abandoning you.

It's one of the clear highlights of this year since the music is distinctly catchy, aggressive and has its own flavour. Bizarre Leprous Productions is one of the few labels nowadays peddling in this death/grind/gore style of music, so please do make an effort to check it out! :)

Agathocles - Black Clouds Determinate [news]

Selfmadegod Records lance les reissues du groupe AGATHOCLES, la première est la réédition de l'album Black Clouds Determinate.

Selfmadegod Records has started the reissue series of complete AGATHOCLES catalog including full length studio releases. The first one reissued is “Black Clouds Determinate”, the second album to see the light of day back in 1994. The 2013 re-release has been remastered for a louder, fuller and heavier result as well as features totally revamped artwork and layout. The 17-song CD includes the song “Until it Bleeds” that comes from the same April 1994 session at famous Soundshape Studios. This song was not released on the first CD pressing of the album. “Black Clouds Determinate” sounds like a mix of raw old school grind/noisepunk and the most filthy raw fast death metal. Also, it's the recording where AGATHOCLES used the most pitch shifted voice on it! It’s a classic of grindcore!
