The Golden Grass LP/CD
Bored with the recent wave of Black Sabbath copycats and proto
metal hipsters, but hungry for vintage sounds? Try The Golden Grass, the
up-and-coming New York trio who grab their vintage influences not from
the Sabs but instead from the golden age of real American hard rock!
Think Cactus, Mountain, Grand Funk Railroad, played with playful energy
and served with a dash of psychedelia.

Nightsatan and the Loops of Doom CD/DVD
Post-apocalyptic synth trash galore! Nightsatan caught the ear of
the attentive laser metal enthusiast with their debut album, Midnight
Laser Warrior, in 2010, and now the trio debut as movie stars in
Nightsatan And The Loops Of Doom. The movie draws inspiration from the
very same source the band does: '80s post-apocalyptic science fiction.

Tusmörke: Riset Bak Speilet CD/LP
A 50-minute transmission from the heart of the darkest northern
forests, the album skillfully channels the spirit of classic British
acid folk rock and soaks it in a black witches cauldron. The
spellbinding concoction is at times reminiscent of classic acts like
Jethro Tull and Incredible String band, and also not entirely far off
from modern forest magicians such as Hexvessel and Wolf People.

Opium Warlords: Taste My Sword of Understanding 2LP
Sami Albert Hynninen alias Albert Witchfinder returns! Composed
between 1994 and 2009, recorded in 2010, mixed in 2013 – ripened,
literally, with blood, tears, sweat, and exotic neurochemical fluids –
Taste My Sword Of Understanding is at the same time minimal and
complicated, light and heavy; sometimes gentle and soothing, sometimes
raw and cruel, but always real and naked, and this time you may find
even some essence of epic Heavy Metal on board.

Vainaja: Kadotetut CD/LP
A doom/death epic of gigantic proportions, Kadotetut is the
heaviest thing you will hear all year. Besides the crushing riffs and
dark melodies, the album's concept is based on encrypted true events
from the past.

Rippikoulu: Ulvaja mCD/mLP
The entities behind the cult act Rippikoulu, known for their 1993
tape release Musta seremonia, have been silently lurking in the shadows
for the past 21 years. Then, on a particularly cold winter's day in
early 2014, a shipment bearing the group's emblem is mysteriously
delivered to the Svart bunker, and inside the parcel there is a master
tape. The contents reveal an entirely new recording, titled Ulvaja. To
be released on Friday the 13th in June, Ulvaja oozes the kind of dark
despair and negative energy, which is enough to drive the sun out of the
skies on any summer's day.

Rippikoulu: Musta Seremonia CD/LP
Rippikoulu's Musta seremonia is both an international cult item and
an integral part of the history of Svart Records as well - a reissue of
the original 1993 tape was one of the earliest Svart releases back in
2010. Back then, this album was considered as one of the best kept
secrets in the Finnish underground metal scene. Four years and one
quickly sold out reissue later Rippikoulu's greatness is no longer a
secret, and we are happy to bring Musta seremonia back on the market.

"As All Seasons Die" is new, long awaited 3rd album by Finnish
Funeral Doom Masters, Profetus. Released by Svart Records on LP &
digital only. A noble visit to nature's chapels with 4 songs of honest,
crushing Doom Metal, drawing inspiration from the down-hearted side of
the Scandinavian mind and Finnish nature in all of its beauty, soulful
prosperity and ponderous bleakness.

Wigwam: Being 2LP
Considered by many as Wigwam's most ambitious work, Being was
originally released in 1974. The album was partially remixed and
remastered in 2001, and this latter version is considered superior by
the group's mastermind behind the album concept, Jukka Gustavson. When
we at Svart began planning the Being reissue, we were faced with the
problem of whether to base the vinyl on the original version or the 2001
version, both somewhat different from each other. Eventually we decided
to expand the album to a double vinyl, with the 1st LP being as close
to the 1974 version as possible, and the 2nd LP presenting the 2001
edition on vinyl for the first time.

Maarit LP
A long-awaited reissue among us Finns, the name Maarit may not ring
any bells with foreign people but even though this is is a pop record
(from 1973), it is no ordinary pop album. A mixture of cover material
and original songs written for Maarit by Jim Pembroke, the backing band
consists of Wigwam members and Dave Lindholm.

Tasavallan Presidentti: II LP
Undoubtedly the rarest item in Tasavallan Presidentti's discography
is the 2nd album. Released by EMI Sweden in 1971, the album followed
hot on the heels of the first, also untitled album which came out on
Love Records in late 1969. The band returned to Love Records for 1972's
classic album Lambertland, with an updated lineup, and the Swedish album
remained an oddity which wasn't reissued in any format until 30 years
later when it appeared on CD. The Svart reissue of this criminally
underrated early prog rock gem comes wrapped in a gatefold jacket, which
features all lyrics, liner notes and unseen photos. Available on
standard black and limited brown wax.
