[news] ARCANE - Worlds Colliding (2014)

ARCANE - Worlds Colliding (2014) - Tribunal Records

OVERVIEW:
Hailing from the fertile metallic Texas landscape, ARCANE began its quest for glory in 1986, but it wasn’t until 1988 that the group solidified their line-up and recorded their stunning Mirror of Deception demo. As the demo started making the rounds via the international tape trading circuit, the group honed their live chops performing alongside such homegrown outfits as Watchtower, Solitude Aeturnus and Helstar.
ARCANE kept building their “band to watch” status by supporting touring national acts like Fates Warning, Sanctuary, Death Angel, Forbidden, Atrophy, and M.O.D. In 1989, the group recorded a second demo tape that eventually secured them an album deal with the then upstart record label, Wild Rags. 1990 saw the release of Destination Unknown, ARCANE’s forward-thinking debut album.
Despite garnering rave reviews from the heavy metal scribes of the day, and the band beginning to write new material for their follow-up release, the members of ARCANE decided to go their separate ways. One final ARCANE demo was released as the Ambiguity EP in 1994.
Now, 20 years since their last release, Divebomb Records presents Worlds Colliding: The Anthology, a 2-CD set containing all of ARCANE’s studio recordings. An exquisite package, all of the audio has been digitally remastered and both demos have been faithfully remixed by original drummer, Jim King. Being the heavy metal archeologists that we are here at Divebomb Records, we’ve brought in writer Carlos Ramirez of NoEcho.net for a new interview with the band that covers their years together. If that weren’t already enough, the 20-page CD booklet also contains lyrics and archival photos and flyers.

[news] Kenn Nardi - Dancing With The Past (2 CD - 2014)

Kenn Nardi - Dancing With The Past (2 CD - 2014) - Tribunal Records

OVERVIEW:

As the guitarist/vocalist/producer and chief writer, arranger and lyricist of Anacrusis from 1986-1993, KENN NARDI was widely recognized as one of heavy metal’s most forward-thinking musical minds. After releasing four albums between 1998 and 1993 with Anacrusis, KENN NARDI went the solo route under the Cruel April moniker in 2006, weaving acoustically-driven material that was free of any genre expectations looming over his head.

On his new album, Dancing With The Past, KENN NARDI has brought together all of the signature elements of Anacrusis’ sound, and melded them with the more streamlined songwriting approach of Cruel April. The result is a 2-CD collection featuring 28 brand new recordings of songs written as far back as 1994. The collection also features material borne from collaborations with KENN NARDI’s former Anacrusis band mates during their 2009-2012 reunion run. Clocking in at over 2 1/2 hours, Dancing With The Past keeps true to the avant-garde spirit that made KENN NARDI’s songwriting and his former band so thrilling while pushing the songwriting and compositional boundaries even further. Quite simply, Dancing With The Past promises to be the album Anacrusis fans have waiting for only full of surprises they never expected.
